Applications Make Memes – Want to make your own memes? It’s easy! I’ll teach you how to make memes on your iPhone, recommend meme-making apps, and show you a free online meme generator. Of course, I’ll also explain what memes are and how to share the memes you make with family, friends, and even strangers on the internet.
There are countless meme generators on the web, and almost as many meme-making apps in the iPhone App Store. What you use is just a matter of preference! While every meme-making app is designed differently, the overall process should be the same. For these steps, I’ll be using Mematic – The Meme Maker (free), but I’ll recommend other apps in my list of the best meme generator apps below.
Applications Make Memes
The key to making good memes is understanding them. Tracking memes can be confusing, and not everyone finds the same memes funny or fully understands them. Check out this article explaining 50 popular memes to get you started!

Pro tip: I love Mematic – The Meme Maker because it can be used to create gifs, collages, and add text on photos, so it also doubles as a photo editor! It may take some time to get familiar with all the features, but it’s very easy to use and the free version is more than enough for all your meme generator needs.
Making your own photos into memes can be done using Mematic – The Meme Maker and we explain the process in the section above. The complexity of turning a photo into a meme is that you have to remove popular meme templates and use your own photo to create something that others will understand as a meme. Otherwise, you’re just editing the photo and making it funny, which is fine, but it won’t really become a meme.
While you prefer to use free meme creator apps to create and edit memes, you can also use websites to avoid apps taking up space on your phone’s storage. If I want to make a specific meme, I google the name and add “free online meme generator”. If I’m looking for options or looking for inspiration, I use Imgflip. The process is similar to using the app: select a meme, add text where needed, and hit the blue “Generate Meme” button.
Memetoad: Meme Generator
I don’t like sites like this because they make it look like you have to create an account or pay for the service. If you use it, just hold down on the photo after compositing and tap “Add to Photos.”
There are so many apps out there, it’s hard to decide which one is the best. Some apps make it easy to create gif memes, others are suitable for adding new meme templates on a timely basis, while others are made with social media in mind and therefore offer features like Facebook template memes. Here are five that I’ve tried and love using.
I was drawn to this app because of its clever name, but it’s also an intuitive and easy-to-use app! It’s a great GIF meme creator, but it shows you ads and you have to wait to export. That said, it doesn’t charge the app every few minutes like some other meme apps do.
To my dismay, the app is nearly unusable without a paid subscription, but it does have a one-week free trial. If you pay, you get access to a wide variety of memes, and the GIF option also comes with sounds, which is awesome! It’s also an easy-to-use app that gives you tips on how to use it, which may be valuable to some people.
Top Deepfake Apps For Funny Memes In 2024
I love this app because they have so many animated meme templates. As much as I love photo memes, a gif meme generator is even more fun! I also love the unique collage templates provided by the MEME Maker MEME Creator Pro app, which allows you to create fun photo mashups without the need for memes. I found the free version a bit limiting and the paid version too expensive compared to other alternatives.
You might not guess the spelling, but the meme rhymes with dreams. Once you master the pronunciation, you’re close to mastering the meme. The definition of meme is very broad, as a meme can be any combination of images, videos, songs, GIFs, or text. Memes spread across the internet. Typically, memes come in the form of pictures with text underneath.
Memes are funny pictures, videos, or other content that are copied, sometimes modified, and shared online. They usually describe a specific idea or concept and therefore act like an inside joke that outsiders can understand. Images often provide a lot of context for the dialogue that appears within the image, so unless you’re joking, the meme may be meaningless. There’s more to memes than you see.
I want to give you a few different examples so you can get a general idea of what memes are and how they work. Making memes is easy. Creating a funny meme is not that easy; but once you start to understand the premise behind some memes, you will soon understand. Remember, you won’t learn them overnight. The best way to learn is to just look at memes when you come across something you don’t know.

Here’s an example of a popular meme called the Philosoraptor, an image of a raptor scratching its chin as if deep in thought, reflecting on the existential questions or even conspiracies of the universe. I’ve given two meme examples below so you can see the image is the same but the title is different but linked to a specific image.
You may have heard of a show on the History Channel called Ancient Aliens . Former Teorico astronaut Giorgio A. Tsoukalos is interviewed in the series. Due to a severe lack of science, and a clear bias towards aliens as the answer to all the weird questions about the ancient pyramids, the ancient alien memes started when the internet started mocking the show, via an interview with Tsoukalos. Reactions to the meme are almost always foreign, mixed with conspiracy theories, general sarcasm, and puns.
