Boubl was responsible and received “criticism for the marketing campaign that supported the introduction of the Z10, including a confusing Super Bowl ad that some board members hated.”

Both Tear and Bouble were ousted on November 25, 2013 by new CEO John S. Ch, who had replaced Thorst Heins weeks earlier.

The BlackBerry Z10 used the QNX-based BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system (running 10.3.3 at the time). BB 10’s user interface was based on the concept of direct manipulation using multiple touches. Interaction with the operating system involved a series of multi-touch gestures, all with specific definitions in the context of the BB10 operating system and its multi-touch interface. The Z10 came pre-installed with a variety of standard BlackBerry apps.

Access to BlackBerry World, the online platform for the distribution of applications for the BlackBerry operating system. The touch screen keyboard had text recognition capabilities.

The BlackBerry Z10 had an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Its camera software included a burst recording mode called “TimeShift”.

I’ve never owned a BlackBerry, and in my years working in IT, I’ve only scoffed: iPhones and Android phones were also more popular among professional workers. I’m somewhat familiar with the bold and curved characters that make up the product line of the company formerly known as RIM prior to BlackBerry 10, but my time as a smartphone owner began as the sun set on the BlackBerry empire.

But it does mean that I look at the BlackBerry Z10 and its operating system with the same eyes that many smartphone buyers will look at the phone: for us, it’s a new touchscreen-based platform versus two huge, established platforms (and a belligerent competitor with deep pockets). It’s not enough that the Z10 is the best BlackBerry phone ever: it also has to beat out phones from companies that nearly pushed BlackBerry out of the market it helped pioneer.

Blackberry Z30 Hands On: Rock Solid Smartphone, But Others Still Offer More

The BlackBerry Z10 serves as a modern reboot for the company, and the phone’s success or failure will likely determine whether it’s the start of a comeback or the end of the line. Where does it work and what are the issues with version 1.0?

For a company that has never made a phone like this before, the hardware is pretty solid. At this point, the shape of a modern smartphone is “a rectangle with a screen in front of it” just as a laptop is “a screen with a keyboard attached”, but the BlackBerry has turned into a pretty nice rectangle.

The body of the phone is made of solid black (or white) plastic. It’s a well-made plastic build: it’s not too bulky (like the Nokia Lumia 920), but it also doesn’t feel too light or “cheap” (as some have said about the Samsung Galaxy S III). The phone has rounded corners and a (very) gently rounded back that fits well in the hand. The back cover, which peels off to reveal the phone’s SIM card tray, microSD card slot and removable 1800mAh battery, is made of a slightly textured, rubberized black plastic that provides a good grip and is shiny and smooth in contrast to plastic. and the glass back used by many other smartphones.

The Z10’s size also contributes to how well it feels in the hand: if, like me, you find the iPhone 5 a little too thin and the Nexus 4 or Samsung Galaxy S III a little too big for you when it comes to comfort (at least for longer one-handed use) the Z10 finds the perfect middle ground. It’s slightly larger than the iPhone 5 in all dimensions: 5.12 inches tall, 2.58 inches wide and 0.35 inches thick (compared to 4.87 inches x 2.31 inches x 0.30 inches). This also makes it slightly heavier (4.78 ounces compared to 3.95 ounces) than Apple’s latest phone, but it’s still very comfortable to hold and carry.

The phone also takes a step back from the ever-bigger screen trend currently dominating the Android side of things: it sports a great 4.2-inch four-point IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 768, larger than the 4.0-inch one. on an iPhone, but smaller than the 5-inch screens that come close to beating phones like the Nexus 4 and Galaxy Note II. The display is bright and colorful, and the pixel density of 356 ppi ensures sharp and clear text and images.

Sound quality from the single speaker on the bottom of the phone is as good as you’d expect: it gets pretty loud but is noticeably weak. Call quality is neither exceptionally bad nor exceptionally good: I called reviews editor Florence Ion on her work and cell phone, and she said it sounded like she was talking on a cell phone. You should find out everything you need to know here.

After spending some time with the phone as a daily driver, I can say yes without hesitation
