Google today announced the launch of App Maker, a new service that people in organizations can use to easily develop custom apps based on their business needs. Google is now accepting requests for early access to the tool from organizations that pay for the business tier of G Suite (formerly known as Google Apps).

Because it’s easy to use by default, App Maker will be useful for people who are less tech-savvy, meaning people who aren’t full-time developers. “We’re really targeting enterprise developers who need to build enterprise-wide line-of-business solutions, but they have to be less (sophisticated) than developers who might build Snapchat or external apps,” said App Maker product manager Ajay Suri. he said in an interview.

Google App Maker will be phased out this year and officially shut down on January 19, 2021. Google cited “low usage” as an explanation for the move. If your business has been using App Builder or is considering switching to App Builder, you need to find another tool.
