There was a time when a union would be formed and many of them would smoke cigarettes and pray for better days. But not now. Now there are opportunities, there is a chance to earn good income.

Think About Your Career If you had asked 22-year-old me what my “career aspirations” were, I would have given you a blank stare and then casually changed the subject… writing an application. is easy All you need is an idea, a design and an API. We started simple: with just three products. Features were limited, the code base was small, and so was our team. Over the years we have added a dozen more products. Our code base grew to over half a million lines of code and a team of over 20.
While this is great progress, there are also some issues that are unique to a large Swift codebase. One of them is: extremely long construction time.

Unlocking Gojek’s 2 Million Drivers
Now this is a funny story, but we actually hurt. We wasted half of our day building the app. Sometimes we would spend weeks trying to figure out which state mutation was causing which thread to cause the annoying weird crash. This was when simple text conversions took 30 minutes to perform. It was disturbing.
We tried to hack around it by eliminating type inference, buying faster computers, adding captic compiler signals we didn’t understand, or requesting Xcode updates that magically fixed everything. . But that will only take us so far. We need a permanent solution. Answer: Experience with different architectures.
GO-JEK went through wave after wave of architectural trends. We have implemented and re-implemented parts of our codebase using different patterns such as MVVM, MVP and even VIPER.
Although these popular patterns helped us design our products internally, we were unable to fully apply them to the design of the GO-JEK app. The solution to our long build time was simply to compile less code at a given time.
