Express Checkout has great functionality, but it can come at a high price. This is a computer-based software solution, so depending on the size of your business or the number of post offices required, the initial cost can be significant. Other features such as 24/7 customer support and custom reports are also available for an additional fee. Because this software is very detailed, some features such as inventory can be difficult and time-consuming to install.

I am the manager of Marshalls Creek Plumbing Supplies in Pennsylvania and we first purchased the Cash Register Express from PC America Sales in 2012. With this purchase there was a clarification that the inventory can support scanners. The computer that was sold used a Honeywell scanner and after a few months they (PC America) couldn’t get it to work with their software. A few more problems arose and we got a representative only to find out that the salesman was there and (an ISO agent) was not employed by PC America. PC America told us that we were not the original owners because the product was sold through a contract (an ISO agent). We abandoned the product and canned the machines. It gets better! FAST TO 2016 A salesperson from Heartland came through our credit management business and told us over the phone that they now own PC America. After going through some of the above, he said if we want to manage it, he will run it. However, we thought there were things we should try. So we ditched it and put a lot of stuff in (no scanner) and the owner went on vacation for a few months. I was told that an annual service/maintenance fee was due, we did not use the sales plan. I contacted the owner and he said as long as we continue to put in the inventory, go ahead and pay when he returns. We got a second message saying payment is due and (guess what) the system won’t start now. No error code, won’t start. I called PC America and they said it’s just a fluke (it happens, he said), we don’t shut down your system to avoid paying for maintenance. But if you pay us a fee, you will be working today. I contacted the IT guy we use and he said he knows PC America uses one
