Java Netbeans Library Application – I am trying to create a basic program in Java. The first option shown was “Java with Maven”, which I used, but it doesn’t give me the “Create Main Class” option I need.
I am using Apache Netbeans IDE 11.0, running Windows 10, x64. I’ve spent the whole day updating and installing the latest version of the JDK I have and still can’t get it to work.

Using SSJ in NetBeans only requires setting the build path to tell NetBeans where to find the classes. Connecting to NetBeans classes requires a one-time configuration, and a specific feature adds SSJ to the project’s build path. Let’s consider these two steps. This method was tested in NetBeans 8.0, but can be used in newer versions of NetBeans. Must be available for use with third-party NetBeans databases.

Click the button <New Library…>. The dialog box below will appear asking for a new file name. Any special string can be entered, for example, SSJ for the file name.
After clicking the <OK> button, the file will be added and selected. Use the <Add JAR/Folder…> button to add the JAR files to the folder. User must select all JAR files
A project can be created with the <New Project> command in the <File> menu. Select <Java Application> in the dialog box that appears and follow the instructions. Once a program is created, it can be configured to use SSJ as follows.

On the NetBeans project page, right-click the name of the project to use SSJ and select <Properties> from the menu that appears. Then select the <Libraries> item on the left side of the dialog box that appears and click the <Add Library…> button. This will bring up a window like the following image.
In the Add Library dialog box, click the <Import…> button and the Import Library dialog box will appear, as shown in the following figure.
Select the SSJ library and click the button <import library>. The SSJ file will appear in the list as shown in the following image.
Select an SSJ library from the list and click the <Add Library> button to add it to the SSJ program.

The project properties window can be closed by pressing the button <OK>. The user should see the JARs from SSJ in the Libraries folder in the Projects project as shown in the following image. In NetBeans (currently using 7.3), there is a nice feature to add a library using the Ant Library manager. I can add jar file to class files, jar file to source files and zip file to Javadoc files. It works well in my workshop.
The problem is that these libraries are not redistributable. How do I get these libraries on my laptop without going through each folder to see what’s inside, downloading the jar/zip files, and not specifying the folder on my computer (or someone running the same program)? Some of the features of the library that I want to maintain, I can include Javadocs for simple API documentation and source code for debugging.
Git allows anyone who wants to create a project to download other dependencies of a library without having to create the same libraries themselves. For example, I created a U2JPA repository with a specific version of U2JPA, a nightly version of OpenJPA, and a few other containers.
Unfortunately Maven is not an option in my current project as the client does not want a central repository of binaries.

Another option is to create your own Nexus server, host your files and use Maven. This is a more complex solution, but also more difficult.
