If a tenant ticks all the boxes to make a good tenant (good credit score, excellent references, required income, recent criminal record, etc.), the landlord may approve their application. The next step is to sign a lease agreement that binds the tenant to a specific lease period (usually 1 year) and defines the general conditions to be followed.
