For Mac users: SAS can only be installed on Windows operating systems. Do not try these instructions on an Apple device if you are not using Bootcamp with Windows 10 or have another way to boot Windows 10. If you have a Mac, you can set up Bootcamp to work on Windows and SAS depending on how much memory your Mac has installed, but Bootcamp won’t work on newer Apple M1 Macs. Month of January from 2021. The Apple M1 does not run Bootcamp, VMware or Virtualbox. Therefore, you cannot run SAS 9.4 on an Apple M1 Mac in this session. There is no solution for Apple M1 Macs. Before performing this step, make sure that you are currently using the computer where you are installing SAS. After finding the email and opening the email, click on the download license file now link. A new window will open and the download will start shortly.
By default, the file will automatically download to your Downloads folder. Otherwise, if you are asked to select a location, select the one you remember.
This email also contains an optional link to download the SAS 9.4 installation package in the email. Follow the instructions below to download the SAS installer before proceeding.

Download SAS from Microsoft SharePoint by following the steps below (select Download from Microsoft SharePoint if you have a fast and stable internet connection). If you have any problems, please visit the Temple University Help Desk.
In the received e-mail “SAS 9.4 License File” in the e-mail, find the Microsoft SharePoint link and click it.
Click on “Download”. Since this is a fairly large download, it may take a few minutes to an hour.

Use Sas Without Downloading And Install
After downloading the installer, extract the resulting ZIP file by right-clicking on it and selecting Extract All. A new folder called SAS9.4.7 will be created. Note that this step may take several minutes. You will see a message similar to the one shown in the screenshot below. Wait until it reaches 100%.
Double-click the Settings icon to launch it. Note that this may appear as “setup.exe” or “setup” on some systems. You may be asked for your consent. Click Yes.
You will be prompted to access the SAS home page. You can leave it as the default: C:Program FilesSASHome. Click Next.
You will also be prompted to select which products you want to install. You can leave it as default and click next.

Don’t skip this step! You will then be prompted for the SAS installation data file. This is your license file. Click Browse and navigate to the location where you saved the license file. Below are the steps for the default download location.
Now you should find the license file you downloaded earlier in your Downloads folder. Find “SAS94_9CQ811_70092167_Win_X64_Wrkstn.txt” and click “Open”
You will then be asked which languages you want to install. Click Delete All, then Next.
You may be prompted to select the SAS Studio Basic option. You can uncheck the Configure SAS Studio Basic option.

You will then be prompted to select a default product for SAS file types. Leave it as “SAS Foundation (64-bit)” by default. Click Next.
SAS will now perform a system check. This may take some time. When you’re done, you can click Next.
