Exploration Flight Test - 1 / Orion - Delta IV Heavy

from 129.95
sold out

This built-to-order and hand-built display model is an approximate 1/124th scale replica of the United Launch Alliance's Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle (EELV) in its Heavy configuration with the Orion capsule and two strap-on Common Core boosters. The Delta IV Heavy delivered the Orion capsule into a two orbit flight with its final decent simulating the speed and trajectory of a return from a Moon flight. The EFT-1 mission launched on December 5, 2014 from Launch Complex 37B at Cape Canaveral AFS in Florida.

The model is made of PVC, ABS plastic, styrene plastic, a finished rectangular wooden base, and highly detailed vinyl wraps simulating the smaller external details and the foam on the fuel tanks. The detail parts on this model are made with a professional grade 3D printer. The parts are made from ABS plastic which is lightweight but very strong.

The EFT-1 model can be ordered: standard, or with a removable Launch Abort System (LAS) and an Orion capsule permanently attached to the Service Module. An additional option is a 1 inch by 2 inch laser-engraved ID plate mounted on the wood base containing the following text:

               Orion
