It’s no surprise that theme usage dropped from the launch peak, as everyone wanted to see the new kid on the block. But the bad news for Twitter’s meta challenge is that the number of active users — and time spent in the app — is steadily declining…
Threads were launched to take advantage of speed limits on Twitter, which frustrated many users and created pent-up demand for alternatives to the platform’s growing problems.
Threads set a new record when it managed to reach 100 million users in just five days – even surpassing ChatGPIT’s impressive launch numbers.

Of course, it’s not surprising to see a peak at launch, followed by a brief decline as the excitement subsides. But the scale of the decline is probably worryingly meta, as is the fact that the decline in usage has now become a trend.
The report said analytics data showed a significant drop in daily active users (DAUs) and a significant drop in time spent with the app.
For the second week in a row, the number of daily active users on Threads fell to 13 million, down nearly 7 percent from a July peak of 70, according to estimates from market intelligence firm Sensor Tower. The average time users spend on iOS and Android apps is 19 minutes to four minutes.
Elon Musk can breathe a sigh of relief as Twitter’s own figures are steady at around 200 million DAUs, and the average time spent using the platform is around 30 minutes per day.

One glaring problem is that Meta has shown no interest in quickly rolling out many of the features requested by early adopters. At the top of the list is historical flow, which many of us consider essential.
Second, there is the ongoing problem of relatively few people being very active on the platform, giving more passive visitors less reason to spend much time there.
My biggest problem with Threads is that it’s related to Facebook, which I don’t trust at all, so I try to use it to a minimum. And that will probably never change.
Third, the most active posters on the topic are brands rather than individuals. Although the platform does not currently allow advertising, it may appear more commercial.
Apple Delayed Telegram’s Ios App Update Due To Unauthorized Use Of Its Emoji
A requested feature – but a technical issue with it means that the rollout of that update is now paused.
Cameron Roth, a software engineer at Instagram, wrote on Threads on Tuesday that the iOS version of the app has released an update that includes several new features — including translations, a Followers tab on the activity feed, and a new tab for anonymous users. New subscription. Convenience included. , however, Roth said in a separate post on Wednesday that the update rollout was halted while the company investigated an issue that caused network requests to fail.
As my colleague Michael Potak noted, the launch of Threads is an interesting shift in perspective from Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, who once said users should be wary of creating a permanent, public record of what they post on any platform.

Update Issue In Gnome Software App
Ben Lovejoy is a British technology writer and EU editor. He is known for his op-eds and diary pieces that explore the experience of Apple products over time for a more comprehensive review. He also writes fiction, two technical thriller novels, some SF shorts and a rom-com! My story has a happy ending: my Safari extension StopTheScript is now updated in the iOS App Store. If you’re not familiar, StopTheScript is unique in that it blocks all JavaScript on selected web pages, including inline JavaScript, a feature that Safari’s content blocker doesn’t have, which is only loaded externally. The script may stop. The new version 1.2 of StopTheScript has only one change: a redesigned splash screen with better instructions for activating and using the Safari extension. Ironically, this extremely minor update was rejected and delayed in the App Store review.
I submitted version 1.2 on the evening of February 9th, and it was reviewed on the morning of February 10th. Nothing happened that day, but on the morning of February 11th, I woke up to an App Store review email sent at 1:30 AM Cupertino time. Header “We have detected a problem with your submission.” Below is what I saw when I opened the App Store connection.
Although this screenshot was not taken by App Store Review; This is one of my own app store screenshots! Actually, this isn’t even a new screenshot, as you can see from the date “Sat Oct 2”, but just an old screenshot from an older version of StopTheScript (in the App Store as of October 2021). That said, nothing changed in the new version except the home screen.
Safari extensions run scripts on web pages, and Safari requires user consent for this, as I explained in my blog post on Safari extension security a few years ago. Without the user’s consent, the extension will not work. App Store review
Understanding The Delay: How Apple Caches And Updates The Apple App Site Association File
You know how to use Safari extensions and understand the Safari permission system, because they review Safari extensions, right? Yet it seems my reviewer didn’t know that. It’s frustrating for everyone, developers and users alike, when App Store reviews can’t do their job – which happens often! But I responded that morning in App Store Connect and gave the reviewer an inevitable didactic lesson.
After that, nothing happened for more than two days. The offer was rejected. Fortunately, I was in no rush to release the update, as it was just a tweak to the home screen, but what if it was a much-needed bugfix update? Finally, I got tired of waiting, and I began to worry that they had completely forgotten about me, so last night I “poked” again into App Store Connect, repeating what I did as a reviewer. The question has been answered and the review has been requested to continue. This morning at 12:30 Cupertino time the update was reviewed again and two minutes later it was approved.
