Windows 8 Start Menu Application – In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, the Start screen was designed to replace the Start menu on the touch screen. It focuses on the concept of pinning. Great, but I was a little disappointed when the start button returned, no “start menu” and clicking the start button on the taskbar would open the Windows 8 start screen.
